A large-scale integrated social campaign "Passenger Right" began as of June 1, 2011. The campaign was requested by the State Traffic Police Inspectorate and the Russian Association of Motor Insurers.
Motor transport passengers are the least protected participants of the road traffic. The passengers take about one third of those who suffer traffic accidents. They are unable to influence the situation and often become its hostages. Passengers are poorly informed on the passive safety accessories in motor transport – safety seat belts, airbags, and child restraints.
The purpose of this social campaign “Passenger Right” was to draw government and social attention
to the rights of passengers.
